It’s pretty self-explanatory, really. Take the word politic—combine it with the word trick—make it plural, and you have politricks. We’re a group of “amateur” political pundits examining the constant game-like nature of our wonderful political system. How can you ignore politricks? What, with all the intrigue? It’s better than the Super Bowl. We are political junkies, if you will, who are finding it increasingly clear that we know just as much about the game as the experts on TV. Sure we like public policy and scrutinizing the real role of government (passing, enforcing, interpreting laws, defending the rights of the people, etc.), but isn’t the game more fun?
