Whenever I have some concerns about my life, I would often consult my sister. I would immediately ask her or tell her about it. She would openly answer me. That is why I grew up really close to her. She’s the best sister anyone could ever have but late, I don’t get enough time or opportunity to even to talk to her about her life. Ever since she got married, she was always busy with her husband. I don’t have the right to complain because she has her own life. However, there are times when I really need her insight just like yesterday. I asked her to meet me. Good thing she agreed provided that I went to her place. There, she prepared my favorite coco with mallows for me. I felt like the old time. I told her about the thing that confuses at the moment. I was confused if I would join the mentor apprentice program of Jimi Petulla or attend film school and get a diploma for it. I know that it’s something to be talked about with parents but I was never comfortable talking to them about my decisions in life. With my sister, I could say anything. I could look weak and vulnerable but never have to feel weird about it. So, she helped me weigh the pros and cons. Then she told me to choose on my own. Just because she’s there to guide me doesn’t mean she will choose for me. She said that I should choose for myself because it’s my future we’re talking about.

I used to quote what my mom used to say when I was a little girl. She would tell me about a person’s life calling. She used to tell me that when I am old enough, I will be able distinguish the difference between a calling and a job. As I remember, she defines a calling way too different from a given job. A calling is typically realized in different ways and forms. On the other hand, a person’s job is ultimately attained and done because he can get paid for it after he has completed a required task. As mature as I am today, I have come to fully understand that we are capable of dealing with a lot of things all at once. I call it multi tasking. A job is equipped with a lot of aspects that can provide us with the needed experience in order to do better in life as we move forward. Los Angeles Film School: My Friend is Going to Be a Director

I have a friend who is really fond of taking videos. At times, he would just randomly select some kids at school and follow them around. It sounds like a stalker and many of them gets pissed off. There was even a time when he was thrown into the garbage. I’m not joking. It’s really true. But because he loves what he’s doing, he didn’t care if he got broken bones or scratches. What he cared more about is his camera. That’s how crazy he is. From the start, he already told us that he is going to be a director. He will be studying at a Los Angeles film school and soon will be directing big movies. He told us that he will work with big stars like Angelina Jolie and Brod Pitt, Jackie Chan, The Rock and all the big stars you can think of. He’s really hopeful. You can see it in his eyes that no matter how many obstacles and difficulties he has to face to reach his goal, he would. In fact, when hiss camera broke and his parents didn’t want to give him repair money because they just spent lots on that new video camera of his, he didn’t eat to save money. He also tried to work for us. He really saved up just so he could get enough money for repairs. That’s how serious my friend is. This is why I’m really hoping he’d make it in the industry someday. I trust he will.

A lot of my friends have been using free software found on the internet to record their tracks. As a band from a small town, we try our best to produce our songs even without the use of high end mixers and expensive software. What band would not want to record their songs anyway? Good thing the internet was invented. It brought a lot of benefits especially in searching for ideas about producing songs. Some of my friends who have the know-how to record songs in the computer also made money out of it. It cannot be helped that some bands would rather hire someone who knows the complicated process rather than doing it on their own. To make more money, a friend of mine entered a recording school and the results were spectacular. Now he can charge more for his services because of the professional degree that he obtained. Even though he is a good friend of ours, we still pay him as a respect to his chosen profession. I learned that being serious in a chosen career can provide you with enough income. Doing what you like most will even generate more income because you are happy and enthusiastic about what you are doing. I guess it’s better than settling for a job in a company where you get paid regularly but unhappy most of the time. Now people here are becoming more and more interested in this industry because it can provide enjoyment and income at the same time.
